Botox & Dermal Fillers Before a Wedding or Big Event: How Early Should You Book?

Published

2 minute read

If you're considering Botox or dermal fillers before a wedding, birthday, holiday or major event, one rule is worth remembering:

Don't make your first appointment the day before the occasion.

Injectable treatments require careful assessment, appropriate treatment planning and adequate time before an important event.

Botox Before an Event

Botulinum toxin treatments are commonly used to soften the appearance of dynamic lines caused by repeated facial movement.

The effects are not immediate and develop after treatment. Your provider will therefore need to consider your event date when planning your appointment.

Dermal Fillers Before an Event

Dermal fillers may be used to restore selected areas of facial volume, enhance facial proportions or address specific concerns following assessment.

Temporary swelling or bruising can occur after injectable treatments, so adequate time should be allowed before photographs and important events.

First-time patients should be especially cautious about leaving treatment until the last minute.

Don't Chase Someone Else's Face

An inspiration photograph can help communicate what you like, but aesthetic treatment should ultimately be based on your own anatomy.

The goal of good injectable treatment is not to give every patient the same lips, cheeks or facial proportions.

It is to understand your features, identify what—if anything—would benefit from treatment and create a result appropriate for you.

If Botox or fillers are part of your festive or bridal preparation, schedule your consultation early. Your treatment should have time to settle before your big day—not become another thing you are worrying about the night before.
